Jochen and fellow MUGGERs,
Please visit:
www.maplesoft.com/sales/freetrialcd.html
to request a free trial of Maple 6, now with DXF export.
If you need something in the meantime, please send me an email directly and lets
see what we can do for you.
Thank you,
Peter Hajek

Hello,
Try http://www.Web3d.org. This site can lead you to all the major software
systems, some free, that can translate between 3D file formats such as
VRML, DXF and 3DS (studio max). You can also try http://web3d.about.com.
Since I believe that the Maple VRML exporter is homegrown you might want to
check the sites for applications that check VRML files for correct syntax.
If you don't have any sophisticated textures the translation process should
be consistent from VRML to DXF/3DS.

Hi
You might want to take a look at the just released Maple 6 as that supports
(among other export formats) DXF.
Cheers
Paul Bragg

Hi Jochen
With Maple6 you can now export Maple 3D plots as DXF files which can be
opened in CAD packages such as AutoCAD. This is one of the new features of
the new release, and I am sure lot of people out there will find it very
exciting. For further info on what's new in Maple6 check the URL below:

Product Reviews |
"Without the Maple software, we would have to spend weeks generating the equations of motion for every experiment. Then the chances that we did it right would basically be near zero. There would always be a mistake somewhere. It is very difficult to set up a dynamic motion model by hand." - Jean-Claude PiedBeouf, Ph.D Manager of Robotics, Canadian Space Agency
"Its very good - highly accurate and easy to use. The speed of Maple allows me to change equations and quickly reintegrate them into the application, so more possibilities can be explored to achieve the precise effect desired." Shawn Neely, Senior R & D Director for PDI/Dreamworks |
